Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade Publishes Over 800 Scientific Articles Per Year

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) announced that in the 2024-2025 academic year, the university published 837 scientific articles, including 318 international and 519 domestic papers. This number represents a sharp increase compared to previous academic years.

Leading in total volume is the Faculty of Finance and Accounting with 96 articles and the Faculty of Business Administration with 94 articles. However, in terms of international research quality, the Faculty of Chemical Engineering has the highest number of international papers with 45 out of 79 published articles; the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Science ranks second with 44 out of 71 articles.

Students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade won prizes at the 22nd National Student Chemistry Olympiad 2025.

The university's average scientific publication rate reached 1.57 articles per lecturer, a relatively high level compared to the current general standard in Vietnam. Specifically, the publication rate in the ISI/Scopus system reached 0.39 articles per lecturer. The leading faculties in ISI/Scopus publication rates include the Faculty of Applied Science, Faculty of Biology and Environmental Science, Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

Notably, many students also participated in scientific research, implementing 115 university-level projects with a total budget of nearly 2 billion VND. Students published 144 scientific articles, including 25 international papers, a significant increase from previous years. Many students achieved high results in national and city-level scientific research competitions.

According to a university representative, to achieve these results, the university has allocated billions of VND to support the implementation of research projects and invested in laboratory equipment, information technology systems, and digital transformation in science and technology management.

The university also implemented reward policies for lecturers and students with articles published in prestigious international journals, especially those in the ISI/Scopus system. Simultaneously, it provides funding for compiling textbooks and monographs, registering intellectual property, and transferring research results, thereby creating motivation for scientific research activities to develop effectively and sustainably.
