Seminar on "Applying AI to Quality Inspection in the Circular Economy" at HUIT
On the morning of January 29, 2026, at Hall C, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) organized the scientific seminar "Applying AI to Quality Inspection in the Circular Economy." The event attracted many scientists, corporate experts, and over 300 students from various faculties and institutes across the university. The seminar served as an important academic and practical forum, helping clarify the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in quality inspection—a key link in the development of the circular economy, an economic model becoming an inevitable global trend.

Delivering the opening remarks, Dr. Thai Doan Thanh – Vice Rector of HUIT, emphasized that in the context of strong digital transformation, applying AI to quality inspection not only improves accuracy, transparency, and management efficiency but also opens opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to increase competitiveness towards sustainable development.

During the seminar, delegates listened to several in-depth thematic reports closely linking scientific research with the practical needs of businesses.
Opening the program, Dr. Tran Viet Hung – Lecturer at the Faculty of Information Technology, presented the topic "Applying AI to Optimize Quality Inspection Processes in the Circular Economy," clarifying how AI and machine learning can support automation, risk forecasting, and enhance the reliability of inspection systems.
This was followed by a presentation from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Thanh An – Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, titled "Applying Multivariate Data Analysis in Raman Spectroscopy of Infant Formula Products." The report introduced an interdisciplinary approach between chemistry and data science, opening possibilities for rapid and accurate product quality testing in the food sector.
From a business and industrial production perspective, Mr. Pham Van Duoc and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tinh – representatives of NK Engineering Co., Ltd. – shared the topic "Applying Measurement and Control Equipment in Industrial Production Process Control," helping participants better visualize the role of measurement and control systems as the "senses" of AI in modern factories.

The panel discussion "Quality Inspection in the Circular Economy," featuring speakers from businesses, research institutes, and universities.
The highlight of the program was the panel discussion "Quality Inspection in the Circular Economy," with the participation of speakers from businesses, research institutes, and universities. Many topical issues were discussed frankly, such as the reliability of AI in inspection, the ability to replace or support manual testing, as well as the prerequisite conditions for Vietnamese enterprises—especially small and medium-sized ones—to apply AI effectively.

The seminar concluded in an atmosphere of open, positive exchange and high expectations, promising to be a prerequisite for deeper research, cooperation, and AI application activities in quality inspection and circular economy development at HUIT in the coming time.
The seminar provided not only academic value but also helped connect the university, scientists, and businesses, aligning with the "theory linked to practice" training orientation pursued by HUIT. Through the program, HUIT students had the opportunity to access new technological trends, broaden their interdisciplinary thinking, and better define their career paths in the digital economy era and sustainable development.
