HUIT and Vietnam E-commerce Association Strengthen Cooperation and Award Scholarships to Support Students
On the morning of March 19, 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT), in collaboration with the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM), organized a working session for professional exchange and awarded scholarships to encourage outstanding students. The event demonstrated the strong bond and commitment to long-term companionship between the two parties.

Attending the meeting, on behalf of VECOM, were Mr. Tran Van Trong – Secretary General; Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc – Deputy Secretary General; and Mr. Nguyen Tan Phong – Head of the Inspection Committee and Head of the Southern Representative Office. The event also welcomed Mr. Huynh Khanh Vu – Director of BSH Saigon (under the Saigon - Hanoi Insurance Joint Stock Corporation - BSH) as a special guest.
Representing HUIT were Dr. Thai Doan Thanh – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van It – Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, along with heads and deputy heads of various faculties and departments.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Thai Doan Thanh, Vice Rector of the University, extended a warm welcome to the businesses. He expressed his hope that the cooperation between VECOM and HUIT would be further strengthened through programs aimed at elevating Vietnam's e-commerce activities in general and enhancing the quality of national human resources.
To ensure mutual understanding and facilitate future planning, Mr. Tran Van Trong, Secretary General of VECOM, outlined three key objectives: promoting coordination, fostering experience sharing among faculty members, and strengthening the connection between the university and the business community. He also emphasized expanding engagement opportunities between students and enterprises.

Sharing insights into the non-profit project "Scholarships for 15 VECOM Member Universities," Mr. Huynh Khanh Vu, Director of BSH Saigon, affirmed that the scholarships awarded to HUIT students are a recognition of their relentless efforts. Furthermore, he expressed his desire for outstanding students to fully utilize these scholarships to further develop their personal strengths.

To motivate the potential "seeds" at HUIT, the Vietnam E-commerce Association and the Saigon - Hanoi Insurance Joint Stock Corporation decided to award special scholarships to five typical students from the Faculty of Commerce. These five individuals have achieved impressive academic results and demonstrate a strong passion for the digital economy. These scholarships serve as a "key" to help them enhance their knowledge and access modern tools from industry experts.
